AC Gaughen’s novel SCARLET debuts today from Bloomsbury/Walker. What’s it about?
Scarlet is a skilled thief, hiding in the shadows of Robin Hood’s infamous band, but she has a secret she’s spent her life hiding from. A secret only Sir Guy, the man sent to kill Robin Hood, knows.
To celebrate AC’s debut today, I’m asking her 9 essential questions we need to know about every author.
9. Legs or pudding?
Legs–all the better to sport some wicked footwear!
8. Jean jacket or leather jacket?
Leather jacket. Always go for the bad!
7. Blind faith or cold logic?
Personally, blind faith. Sometimes I don’t have enough faith, and I actually wear a ring that’s stamped with BELIEVE to remind me to trust in the universe a little bit more. But when it comes to my characters, I love a character that trusts nothing and relies solely on logic.
6. Pen or keyboard?
Keyboard. I’m a 21st century girl.
5. Zombies or unicorns?
Unicorns. Do you know the Vikings gave Queen Elizabeth I a narwhal tusk that was gilded and decorated with jewels and told her it was a unicorn’s horn?
4. Hardback or paperback?
Hardback. All the better to beat a robber with in cases of emergency. All things in your purse should serve at least two purposes.
3. Bookmark or fold the page?
Neither. If I can stop in the middle of the book, it’s not worth finishing–I’m a total obsessive reader.
2. Hoard or share?
Hoard. And share. Definitely do both.
1. Happy ending or total devastation?
TOTAL DEVASTATiON. MUAH HA HA.
