The 9 Spot: Jon Skovron

November 6th, 2009 by Saundra

Jon Skovron’s debut novel STRUTS & FRETS is about a boy who loves music, loves his family, and would love to find his place in the world- it’s one of my favorites in 2009. So we’re asking Jon 9 essential questions we need to know about every author!

9. Legs or pudding?
I don’t like pudding. Or deserts. Or anything sweet. I know. I’m weird.

8. Jean jacket or leather jacket?
Leather, baby! I have this vintage black leather jacket that is so old and soft…I hardly ever wear it anymore just because I feel like it only has so many wears left before it vanishes.

7. Blind faith or cold logic?
I’d never get anything started without blind faith. I’d never finish anything without cold logic.

6. Pen or keyboard?
Depends on the story. The rough draft for Struts & Frets was written long hand in cheap composition notebook.

5. Zombies or unicorns?
Uh, yeah, I’m gonna go with zombies.

4. Hardback or paperback?
Paperback for traveling, hardbacks for collecting.

3. Bookmark or fold the page?
I used to be a fold the page guy, but broke the habit when I was inherited all my grandfather’s old books an folding a page literally made them crumble.

2. Hoard or share?
Share! Unless its Guinness. Although even then, my grandfather taught me to always leave just a little bit left in the pint glass for the wee folk.

1. Happy ending or total devastation?
Total devastation, followed by kick-ass rebirth/renewal.
