Look, you never know when you might need some twine. It’s good for tying around your finger. Or tying up brown paper packages (step off, string!) Or- I don’t know, for tying Mandy to her cot in the van while she’s sleeping, and then tickling her face with a feather. I’m not saying we did that before our tour stop in Cawker City- I’m just saying we could have.

Nice short drive from Kansas to Oregon tomorrow. Maybe this time Rhonda will let us stop for actual food instead of more Cheeto and Wonder Bread sandwiches in the van. Ever since we lost Paolo (he said something about going on a Sanity World Tour and wandered off in Barstow, California…) we’ve been trading the driving duties between us.

Don’t let this get around or anything, but Rhonda? Totally likes her half in the middle. We need flashing lights on this van to protect the innocent or something, seriously!

I love that you chose this as a spot on your tour. My family would stop here everytime we visited my grandparents in NE and drove through KS (we’re on one side of the state and we had to drive through Cawker City to get to NE). Every visit my parents would tell us to look out the window at the ball of twine. Sometimes we’d get out and get a picture-I don’t know how many pictures we have of that twine! Always a fun trip visiting a ball of twine!:)
